Aleksei Isaev was born in Kalinin and studied at the Khanty-Mansiysk College of Arts and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music and attended master classes with Dmitry Vdovin.

He has been a soloist at the Helikon Opera in Moscow since 2011.

Roles in his repertoire include Grigorii Greaznoy (“TheTsar’s Bride”), Alfio (“Cavalleria rusticana”), Renato (“Un ballo in maschera”), Rangoni (“Boris Godunov”), Conte d’Almaviva (“Le nozze di Figaro” ), Escamillo (“Carmen”) and Prince Jelezki (“Pique Dame)”.

Future and current roles include Nabucco (title role), Germont (“La Traviata”) at the Helikon Opera in Moscow and Helsinki, Conte di la Luna (“Trovatore”) at the Helikon Opera in Moscow and Charles Gerard (“Chenier”) in Wiesbaden.

In February 2020 he sang the title role in Demon in Bordeaux and in October in Silvio (Pagliacci) at the Helikon Opera Moscow.

His engagements have lead him to Moscow in the roles Silvio (»Pagliacci«) and in the title role of “Eugen Onegin”, as Jago (“Otello”) in 2018 at the State Theater Wiesbaden. Aleksei Isaev made his debut at the Semperoper Dresden in the new production »Lucia di Lammermoor« under the direction of Dietrich W. Hilsdorf as Lord Enrico Ashton in the season of 2017/18.

He returned to Semperoper Dresden in this role in December 2019.

In Helsinki he sings Germont in October / November 2021, and Chenier in Wiesbaden in September 2021. In Toulouse he will sing Aquarius in Rusalka.

Further roles include Robert in “Jolanta” at the Kungliga Operan Stockholm (cancelled due to Covid19) and Conte di Luna in “Il Trovatore” at the Helikon Opera in Moscow.

Additionally, he is in great demand as a soloist for concerts.
