Armenian lyric soprano, Ani Yorentz Sargsyan, developed a passion for singing already at the age of six.

Engagements lead Ani Yorentz to the Opera Hauses of Peking and Shanghai with the role of Juliette in Gounods “Romeo et Juliette”. With this Role recently she made her Italian debut in Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari. She has also embodied Juliette at Deutsche Oper am Rein in Düsseldorf, at State Theater Kassel and at Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern.

Currently she is performing the main role of Rusalka in the new Production at the Theater Freiburg in Germany.

A few months ago she was very successful as Alice Ford in Verdis Falstaff at the National Opera Tallin.

Last season Ani Yorentz Sargsyan impersonated Angèle Didier in the Landestheater Linz in the new production of the operetta “Der Graf von Luxembourg”, which was broadcasted in Austrian TV on ORF3.

She has appeared as a guest soloist with The Hague Resident Orchestra and the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra.

After making her debut at the Dortmund Theatre, “capturing the essence of Mimi with her passion and energy” in a premiere of “La Bohème” she was as a guest performer at the Kassel State Theatre, singing the roles of Mimi in addition to Helena in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Ani Yorentz Sargsyan has since for few seasons been a principal soloist at the Kassel State Theatre, where she performed as Mimi/Musetta (La Bohème), Liu (Turandot), Nedda (I Pagliacci), Micaela (Carmen), Ninetta (Love of the Three Oranges), Michael (Handel: Saul), Pamina and First Lady (Magic Flute), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Ninetta (Love of the Three Oranges), Semira (Artaserse), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), 4th Maid (Elektra), Anna Reich (Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor), Alice Ford (Falstaff) and Baronin (Der Wildschütz) among others…

During this time she also received the youth price from promotional organization (2014) as well as the Irma Jansa Prize as honor and recognition for outstanding singing performance (2016).

A graduate of the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and the Yerevan Opera Studio, she continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt. During her studies she received a scholarship from the Oskar and Vera Ritter Foundation as well as the Alfred Toepfer Foundation.

She has received numerous international prizes as well, such as the Youth Prize at the Romansiada International Song Competition in 2002, International Competition “Yantarny Solovey” Kaliningrad in 2004, claimed Third Prize at the “Delping Games” International Singing Competition in Kiev in 2005, Second Prize at the “Republican Competition T.Sasandaryan” in Yerevan in 2006.

In 2009 she won First Prize at the competition for the role of Micaela (Carmen) in the Schlossoper Haldenstein festival, which included performances at the Tonhalle Zürich.
