Mezzo-Sopran

Mezzo-soprano Anna Danik graduated in 2007 from the soloist class of Royal Danish Academy of Music where she studied under the supervision of professor Kirsten Buhl-Möller, and from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland.

Danik started her career in 2006 as a Jugendlich-dramatic soprano; she sang a variety of important roles at the Finnish National Opera, Savonlinna Opera Festival, Rialto Theatre Copenhagen, Turku Music Festival, Berwaldhallen Festival among others.

In 2014 Ms. Danik switched to mezzo-soprano and quickly grew into dramatic parts. Her 2014 debut as Eboli in Don Carlos at the Opera Chemnitz was received with enthusiasm among critics and public. In addition to opera Anna Danik also focuses on concert performances – both in traditional and contemporary repertoire. Recently she has sang Berg’s Sieben Frühe Lieder with Turku Philharmonic under the baton of Leif Segerstam and gave her China debut by singing Mahler’s Rückert Lieder in Beijing.

In season 2016 Anna Danik made her debut as Wellgunde in Rheingold and Götterdämmerung and Schwertleite in the Die Walküre under the baton of Daniel Barenboim at the State Opera Berlin, and covered the role of Klytämnestra in Elektra , in Patrice Chéreau production both in Berlin and Helsinki. Anna Danik’s first Amneris in Aida in the big open air spectacle of Theater Ulm in Germany got amazing critics, as alsoWoman in Sallinen’s Horseman celebrating production Finland 100 years in Pori.

In season 18/19 Anna Danik performed in both Italian and German repertoire: Emilia (Othello) Verdi in Savonlinna Opera Festival and in Bolshoi TheatherKlytämnestra (Elektra) in Badisches Staadstheater Karlsruhe, and Klytämnestra cover in Teatro alla Scala, MilanoAmneris in Finnish National Opera, Beethoven 9th Symphony, and Stravinsky Les Noces mezzo parts, and Margret in Wozzeck, Finnish National Opera, Helsinki.**

Covid Season 20/21 was supposed to contain Sonetka ( Lady Macbeth of Mzensk) , Schwertleite (Walkyre) in Finnish National, Opera,1 Norne (Götterdämmerung) and Dalila – everything has been cancelled except for the concerts with wonderful Wesendonck Lieder** by Wagner , with Turku Philharmonic Orchestra under baton of Okko Kamu.

Season 21/22 includes Eva in world premiere opera Kain& Abel, composed by Christoph Ehrenfellner ; Schwertleite in Die Walküre, Wagner , in The Royal Danish Opera and new Ring production in Helsinki National Opera , Flossilde** and 1. Norne in Eurajoki Belcano festival,and house debut Erda in Rheingold , in the new Ring production in Zurich Opera and Amneris** in Savonlinna opera festival.

Season 2023-23 : Erda Debyt in Siegfrid in Zürich opera, Erda (Siegfrid ) in Düsseldorf 2n Deutsche Oper Am Rhein, and Amneris in Latvian National Opera.
